This education partnership serves to debunk the 9th grade expectancy among students of color, as reported by the Erick Institute of Research Sciences, that STEM careers are not for them. Fortunately, the Erick Institute reports good news as there is a slight increase in African American and Hispanic/LatinX students who seek college degrees in STEM studies.

The Links, Incorporated is a professional woman-led organization with a membership of 17,000 African American women headquartered in Washington, D.C. Under the leadership of Shana Nichols, The Lone Star ( TX) Chapter serves Williamson and Bell counties.
